Stay at Home Original Songs Concert One
May 6, 2020

On day 12 of the stay at home stay in place directive in California I had finished the cleaning and recreating my living space to match my new vibration and frequency. As I was turning to my list of what’s next, I was interrupted by what I will call, a Celestial Directive, to write 33 songs about the experience I am in and make them relevant to the collective. Excuse me, I blurted out! C’mon, you can do this, I heard. Yeah…you’re right, I said.

So, I grabbed paper and pencil, my preferred tools of writing songs, and proceeded to simply brainstorm 33 titles. That was easy…Sent them to 4 people to tell me the top 10. Multiple opinions but enough common ones to make those the ones I would write for the concert performed on May 6.

The writing came in stages. I took the title and turned on the recorder and then let myself improvise with the guitar and voice to create a foundation and direction. Usually I take the first thing that comes as I feeel it is the one. No resistance, just flow. It took three hours but I actually set the key, melody, basic chord structure, mood, and rhythm and even got some appropriate phrases to include in the next phase, the writing of lyric and making the song. 33 solid ideas to flesh out in that three hours. In the flow.

Then I turned to the 10 I wanted to feature at the first concert. And here we are…sharing the songs.

Below is the list of songs I set up and played during the two concerts. Included also is the one song from 2012 I played as the first because it fit so well.

     a.  Everything Is Changing  Am

b.  The Longer it Goes  C

g.  TP Lament  C

h.   If I Could Just Get a Hug  E

Some notes about the Stay in Place Original Songs

  1. There will be two more unveilings of the songs on the following two Wednesdays at 4 PM PST on Facebook Live and at 7 PM on You Tube. Consult the schedule for details
  2. I am planning on performing the songs live one at a time on FB Live once a day starting Monday May 11, 2020…tomorrow. Just one song shared each time so stay tuned for the announcement about the time. That time is dependent on the place where I can fit it each day. I will give at least two hour’s notice.
  3. You will notice that the lyric sheets above also have the chords. Normally one does not give that away but I would love it if musicians you know would play these songs in their own way and style. Get them out there to serve the vibration. Of course, they are copyrighted…so, let’s play. Pass them on and see if they are interested
  4. Once I perform the song live that video will be on my FB Live page for access. Here’s the link:

These songs came very quickly as there was a lot of energy circulating that I could just reach in to  and use for the creation. I really enjoyed sharing them live. Sure, I fumbled here and there. Truth is, there wasn’t the time to completely memorize them. I used lyric sheets and did my best to present the song and the energetic intent. I invite you to go watch the video by returning to the Streaming Concerts Schedule page and clicking the link to either Facebook live or You Tube.
