Emotions are energy in motion. They are triggered by the moments of living, by thoughts, and by a reservoir of stored unexpressed emotion. Upon triggering they move to clearing. Each emotion has a duration. They always end, no matter how intense they seem in the moment. The best thing to do with emotion that is present and moving is to support its movement. Resistance pushes the energy back to storage where it will continue to push more intensely for future release (the body is designed to be clear and flowing.)

You support the emotion by doing what it is calling for. Fear requires shaking and sounding with the voice. Anger requires physical action and vocal sounding. Sadness requires tears and vocal sounding. Grief, depending on the stage you are in, will involve all three of the above at different times. The ideal is to support the emotion with the action until it passes.

Emotional energy, when not allowed to express, will store in the chakra system , the cells, and tissues, and organs. You want to get this cleared and refrain from any storage again. Emotion does not need to be expressed to the source of the issue. It is safer and actually more effective to speak or sound the emotion by yourself in a safe location that will allow you to make sound. Speaking the words unsaid to an empty chair with the person you are talking to to imagined in it is a very, very effective vehicle for both clear emotion and emotional debris.

Your voice is one of the most powerful tools you have for expression as it is vibration. Emotional energy moves and funnels towards the throat. The stronger the emotion the more likely you have a significant reservoir of unexpressed energy, words, and memory. You must create the ways to clear this if you want to reach a balanced state with emotion where you can have an experience, allow and express the emotion appropriately, and reclaim a higher state of balance.

Physical action, making vocal sounds, dancing, singing, chanting, and use of mantras are effective ways to move the energy.

It is not necessary to understand the emotion moving, simply support its clearing. The major emotions are chakra based. You can use the chakra location to indicate which emotion is moving. Then you can use the supportive tools to facilitate the complete release.

Fear is stored in the Sacral Chakra, just below the navel. Any stirrings, pain, or sensation here will likely indicate fear has been triggered by your moments of living. Remember the degree of intensity of the fear is proportional to how much fear you have repressed and swallowed in  the past. Shaking, sounding, crying are all useful tools. Writing is also useful. As are Gestalt activities where you act as if to clear energies with others (imagining you are talking to them)

Anger is stored in the Solar Plexus. When you are having sensations in the stomach or major organs in the mid-section then you are feeling anger rise. Anger is a rush of energy, like Popeye eating spinach, a flush of intense adrenaline to take action. Anger requires expression with vigor. Judgment or criticism of self or others, inability to decide or take action, feelings of being overpowered are all variations of anger. They will show up in your center. You must take action. Raw sounds are better than words to accompany the actions. Though speaking to the imaginary person in the chair is a useful activity. Anger usually masks the fear that is underneath. Likely any intense anger will be followed by the cleansing power of tears.

Sadness is a heart chakra issue and is stored in heart and lungs and lower throat. When sensations happen here you are in sadness. Tears are the primary salve for sadness and portions of grief. Allow them to happen as often as they come up and cry for as long as you need to. Writing and chair dialogues are useful after the wash of the primary emotion and may be useful in initiating a deeper and more complete release.

We are designed with emotion. There are many other variations that can happen but most all come back to a variation of the basic ones above. You are designed to have them come up and to let them release, leaving you clearer, cleaner energetically, and more relaxed. To that end start allowing and supporting their experience and release. Stop stuffing any emotion. Clear anything unsaid before you go to sleep.

When you do you will begin to experience a flowing of life that is quite fulfilling…putting you back in this state of our little friend pictured below…
