Intentional songs are a combination of chant and mantra, a new hybrid that is building a bridge between the two traditions. Utilizing many of the same characteristics, the intentional songs are melodic songs in the native language. They are much like an affirmative statement put to music in a variety of rhythms, feels, and styles. They are more accessible and less formal than the traditional chants. They, too, utilize repetition and a fairly short statement, though they may conform to contemporary song structure with a verse/chorus format.

Here are seven examples of Intentional Songs written by Mark through the years. Samples of each can be found in the player at the bottom of the page.

Life Is Good
I give a little Love

Give a little Light

It comes back ‘round

I feel all right

Ah, life is good
Ah, life is good

Heartbeat
Heartbeat angels all around me
Open me up like a flower to the sunlight
A new way of being a new way of seeing
Higher Higher

You Are Beautiful

You are beautiful

You are wonderful

My heart is open wide

To let you in

You are so beautiful

You are so wonderful

And I do love you

As you are, my friend

In the Silence
In the silence I can feel the love
In the silence I can rise above
In the silence I can hear the voice
In the silence I Am home
I Am home

Life
I do what gives me life

I do what gives me life

I do what gives me life

Hey, hey

In these moments I am given

In situations called to me

I now choose the path of living

I now choose what sets me free

Be Here Now

Be here now,

Right in this moment

This is where I Am

Be here now

Willing and open

Boundless and free

I Am

Mask

Let’s take off the mask
dismantle the walls
Let our pureness shine
Get out of the way just say yes
My friend, ooo it’s time
‘Cause you are love and I Am love
And we are Love together

Intent

In endless potential

I set my intent

Straight into this moment

My focus is sent

Clear in desire

I give it away

The details are handled

As long as I say

“I let go, let go, let go”
