Healing Music Characteristics
All music has the capacity to alter vibrations. That does not make all music healing. Some diminishes frequencies and disrupts inner systems and cells. It is necessary that any music created for healing purposes include some or all of the following characteristics.
Drone: a bed of music upon which all other music elements rest. Long, uninterrupted sound on a single pitch touches a specific area in the human organism. Aligning with the balance tone of an organ, gland, muscle, system , blockages may be dispersed and tensions released. Natural harmonics of the pitch will balance auric fields around the body. The human voice can be a powerful drone.
Repetition: creates a healing modality within the listener through familiarity and comfort. Then the person can relax and be receptive to the vibrational influence and intent.
Harmonics: help to balance the physical by addressing the etheric bodies. Each predictable harmonic step over the fundamental pitch effects a corresponding auric layer. The drone allows more time and space for the harmonics to do their cleansing, realignment work.
Rhythm: used to duplicate the healthy pulse rate, heart rate, or brain waves. Beginning with the intended rate allows the actual pulses to entrain, or line up, to the rhythmic stimulus.
Harmony: is the emotional content of the music. Specific intervals evoke specific emotional responses consistently. The intervals also effect the cellular structure and can thus be used to support or realign a dis-
Melody: engages the mind to help transcend the pain or issues of the physical. Specific scales, modes, or ragas tend to evoke shapes and images, thus supporting powerful visualization sessions that mentally reprogram ones’ healing course.
Instrumental Colors: the timbres of orchestral and electronic music instruments penetrate the physical body at specific locations and also assist in the balancing of the auric layers. Again the fundamental tone targets a specific physical area while the harmonics tgend to auric body issues.. Instrument size, shape, construction, materials, harmonic content, performance are all relevant in the effectiveness.
Form: or design of the song influences the direction the listener travels while the music plays. Mood changes, key changes, modality adjustments, melodic directions, lyric content, etc are elements to be considered in putting together a piece.
