Energy Balancing Techniques
These techniques are from a variety of sources, primarily Donna Eden, in her book Energy Medicine.
Conscious awareness is what is necessary to notice the sometimes subtle shifts of internal energy. Picking up the clues is the first step to responding with the appropriate tool. Some of the callings are pretty generic and would be addressed with a daily energy maintenance program…just like exercising, eating, or sleeping.
- K27
Tapping or massaging these points at the intersection of the sternum and the clavicle will Energize you if drowsy, and will focus your mind. The Kidney meridian points are at the notches just below where the clavicle and sternum intersect. Cross hands, palms towards body, tap each point with the middle finger of the opposite hand. Tap, while breathing deeply for about 20 seconds. - Thymus Thump
Thumping the thymus gland at the center of the sternum stimulates all your energies; boosts your immune system; and increases your strength and vitality. About 2 inches below the K-27 points is the thymus, underneath the sternum. As you breathe deeply, firmly tap your thymus point with the four fingers of each hand for about 20 seconds - Spleen Points
Tapping the neurolymphatic spleen points will lift your energy level, balance your blood chemistry, and strengthen your immune system. Find the points by moving your fingers down from your thymus, out to your nipples, and straight down beneath your breasts. Move them down over the next rib. Tap firmly with several fingers for about 15 seconds, breathing deeply through your nose and out your mouth. - Cross Crawl
Crossing the center line of your body allows you to balance both hemispheres of the brain. You will feel more balanced, think more clearly, improve your coordination, and harmonize your energies. Stand, if you can. Lift your right leg and left arm simultaneously allowing them to move across your center line inward. Do the same for your left leg and right arm. Keep this crossover march going for about one minute, breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth - Tantrums
The tantrums we threw as a child had a specific effect in releasing held energy, releasing the growing pulse of adrenaline induced anger, let the withheld sound of frustration or the unexpressed be sounded, and brought us back into our bodies by grounding us to the earth. When you feel overwhelmed create a safe space where you can voice your emotions. Do a tantrum: stomping the feet on the earth, making sound, flailing the arms and legs. Do this until you feel the shift of the energies and find your self back in body. - Grounding
Staying in body and connected to the Earth sustains our foundation and gives us the energy required to meet the moment. Become aware of your feet. Tap your heels to the earth as this activates the root chakra sending pulses downward into the earth establishing direct connection. Breath deeply through the nose and out the mouth. - Breath
Your breath can center you, focus you, clear you, and move you through emotional releases. Breathing through the nose to the belly super oxygenates you and fills you with the chi, life force. Exhaling through the mouth releases toxins. Practice deep breathing often to regain your capacity to do so, offsetting the shallow breathing program most Westerners have learned. - Toning
Making sound will assist in clearing the held energy, cleansing the auric field, and releasing pain. It is a general tonic to your energy bodies. Make sirens of sound that start low and rise up to fall again. Using the phonetic, ah, start with your low voice and let it rise, allowing your body to open up as you do so. Go as high as you can and then let the continued voiced sound fall back to where it began. Allow the body to collapse as the sound falls. Do this several times each morning and evening to create a good inner and outer space. - Zip Up
The Central meridian runs from the pubic bone to the lower lip. Sometimes our energy is leaking out. Zipping this meridian up will give you confidence, clarity in thinking, protect you from negative energies around you, and allow you to tap inner strength. Briskly tap K-27 to assure that your meridians are moving in a forward direction.. Placing your hand at the bottom of the meridian, the pubic bone, take a deep breath and simultaneously move your hand with deliberation straight up the center of your body to the your lower lip. Repeat three times.
