Boundaries and Personal Space

  • We are an energetic being in an energetic cosmos, influenced incessantly by the vibrations around and within. As a unique expression of the Divine I Am That I Am it is essential that I maintain my frequency of Wholeness. I do so by knowing that this is my charge to do, choosing to develop the sensitivity to pay attention to the nuances of energy within and without, learning to recognize the subtle changes that occur energetically, taking action to remain clear and clean by releasing all that is unlike my true vibration…this is done, ideally, in a moment by moment flow.

  • My personal space is the energetic shroud in which I feel comfortable and in my clarity and power. Comfort is seductive and often reflects more of our learned and programmed patterns and beliefs than our in the now responses to our oscillating world and its malleable forms. It can be referred to as my sphere of sensitivity where I consciously regulate the influx of innumerable frequencies of energy that want to integrate or invade my field. In other words, the personal space keeps the world out and me in, the degree depending on my choices.

  • Technically, my personal space consists of my energetic bodies, 12 in all, that surround me at varying distances. Each body aligns with a chakra and is responsible for being sensitive to allow or reflect frequencies that are knocking at my field. This field is in constant flux, changing and adjusting to influences. Often called the aura, or auric field, this cocoon of protection is vital in allowing us to remain in the flow as who we are.

  • Our boundary is the membrane, the wall, the barrier that is the line between the inner and the outer. As I develop sensitivity I can discern energies of lower frequency that are up against my cocoon of sensorial awareness and higher frequencies that I freely invite into my personal space. So, boundaries protect, filter, and magnetize. Knowing this allows me to monitor my frontier and choose to be in power instead of on guard.

  • The moments of living, especially in the very early years significantly impact the condition of our boundaries. The energy bodies are compromised by shock, abuse, physical harm, trauma, the unprocessed pain of an event, the unsaid/unsupported words never spoken or released, external invasions, attitudes and strong emotional pulses directed towards us intentionally, etc. These experiences cause the boundaries to become rigid or immobilized, permeable, and/or sliced, diced, and cut full of holes. This allows our energy to leak out and allows lower vibrations to penetrate and impact us in a wide degree of severity. These violations can easily lead to disease of the physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies.

  • It follows that one of our key self care responsibilities is to establish and maintain clear, clean, powerful, and effective boundaries. It is about both keeping our energy in alignment with our personal tonal frequency and restricting the entrance of lower vibrations that would compromise that frequency. Doing so requires first, awareness, and second, the willingness to do what is necessary to keep things purring.

  • Healer and author, Cyndi Dale, in her book, Energetic Boundaries, goes into great detail about the energetic costs of boundary violation as well as providing in depth strategies for repairing the walls. I borrow from her and support your further exploration if you resonate with the sense of severely compromised boundaries. What follows are a series of suggested strategies and actions that can assist you in meeting the call of the moment to maintain your field in harmony.

  • Recognizing you have boundaries is a critical first step. Now you can set them in line with the forms of the moments. Here are some ways to set and maintain them: speak your birth name, first, middle and last to set a sphere of high vibration around you at a frequency that is in resonance with your incarnate template; speak the Tibetan protection mantra, Hung Vajra Peh, seven times; do the same for the Hindu mantra, Om Vajra Sattwa Hung; empower a stone with protective and filtering intentions and carry it with you; cast a circle by drawing your outward facing right hand in a circle to establish your field against any felt energies; practice smudging with traditional Native American herbs of white sage, cedar, or wheat grass to cleanse lower vibrations; invoke the energy and protection of Archangel Michael to draw the sphere of white light around you to protect you from less than affirming intentions; invoke the St. Germain Violet Flame to cleanse any energies vibrating lower than your own I Am That I Am frequency; call upon water via bath, shower, charged water, holy water, spritzing, to cleanse your energy bodies get into Nature to ground your bodies and invoke the earth frequency to assist in keeping you in your Wholeness; drum and sing and dance to shake away the lower frequency attachments; cut the energetic cords of attachment by using the Egyptian empowerment Suh Htep Nah while using the hands to cut across the lower chakras like knives; utilize powerful protective symbols, like the pentagram, the ankh, the cross, and the triple knot; breathe deeply and intend powerful affirmation that calls forth a high frequency environment for you; etc.

  • The bottom line is that you choose to do anything that will affirm your knowing of the importance of keeping your energy field and bodies in clean alignment. Develop the sensitivity to notice the subtle changes that whisper in the moments. Act upon your impulses and use your personal arsenal of tools. Call for help, especially, Michael, and your own etheric guides and guardian angel.

  • Consistent care will begin to heal the energetic bodies of the holes and rents and tears borne in living. Your own higher self is a remarkable and ever present resource. Set your boundaries whenever you find yourself in a new place with new people and remember to cleanse the energies when you return home. You deserve to be you…
