Asking for Memory Assistance

Memory is an interesting thing. Everything that has ever happened to us is held in memory in sensory rich detail. It is held in tissue, in brain, in holographic content in DNA, in the Akashic Record, and in the collective tissue of the major body neural centers, the heart, the brain, and the gut. And yet, many function as if they lost the password to their files and move about without the learnings that can come from gaining clarity through memory.

Forgetting is a convenience, a combination of conscious choice and a bow to the collective energy of the repressed energies of moments lived masquerading as pain. This reservoir of pain grows into monstrous proportions, or so it seems, the more we resist allowing the clearing via release. We create our comfort zone reality that allows unconscious living to parade as routine and we get along. How sad…and how boring. When the conscious entrance into the memory banks will lead to a reawakening and a dance in the light, though it may be sopping with the wetness of the tears and the sweat contained in “forgetting”.

It is time to treat the memory as energetic, an oscillating force that can be transformed to allow the greater learning to rise above the shadows. Attaching to the story and the rehashing of the events is not really necessary in these new vibrations. The story can easily become the eddy in the stream, told over and over , to get an audience who will share the pain. That seems to fill the holes of living…not really. Commiseration is a tedious club.

What is required in getting clear is to invite the energy that holds the “pain” to move and vacate the tissues. Allowing the sound and the movement that it contains to bless the moment leaves one lighter and clearer with more of their true space available for honest experience.

The child has learned to be afraid of certain memories, and out of learned ignorance and lack of support, built walls around them. They take the sea of fear that is everywhere and apply it to self to keep the shadows unexplored. This is simply uninformed ignorance that is certainly capable of adjustment.  This is where the adult can enter to guide the child in a loving, nurturing, but firm way to lay down the structure of their self imposed castle. Believe me that though there is initial resistance and flailing at the hands of the child, there is a much deeper yearning to let it all go and simply be taken care of and loved. So, the door is ajar…enter it.

One can access memory by asking for help. Do things to trigger the memories. Take time and make a time line of your life thus far. With the help of your child make note of important events and powerful moments along the way. When the list is complete then take time together to revisit each and reminisce…lots may come up that is energetically attached…time to clear the inner air and let it go.

You can also put down the numbers for the years you have been alive. Then do some non dominant listing of experiences that are during those times. You may be surprised at how far back you can go. When things reveal allow them to process and release. Express gratitude for the process as well as the experience itself and the learnings that arose.

Use any treasures of your child’s past to trigger memories and release

Ask living family members you trust to give you their impressions of the early years.

Call to your guides to help you clear out the debris, even without knowing what its about.

Notice what is showing up in your life. There is information and clues in each person, place or thing. Look at them together to see the greater perspective and the invitation that has arrived as a gift to open.

Set an intention to go into a meditative state and invite memories to appear and move outward. Use the breath as the touchstone that pulls you back to center. Let the memories drift through like clouds. Be grateful for the show…

Ask the body to reveal what is ready to move. Trust the insight and then move your body and give lots of sound to the release in this improvisational cleanse.
