One of the first things that is sequestered from the child as she is socialized and civilized is her autonomous sense of wonder and active imagination that sees easily beyond the agreed upon forms of life. The loss of this is devastating to each of us as it drives us to give up a significant part of our free flow and interconnectedness with the seen and the unseen. Schools and institutions reward and celebrate conformity and coloring between the lines. The child loses her chutzpah and shuffles though life toeing the line. Not no more! The reawakening of the child is augmented by the return of the tools of imagination and wonder. It must be invited and demonstrated and cultivated for awhile. This activity is about doing just that.
