In the Silence, is a chant in English created at a youth conference. We needed a song to lead the teens into an extended silent time of reflection. As is often the case, the need creates the inspiration. Music and songs live in the dimensional ethers, in my opinion. The moment calls for me to reach in and grab the inspiration. It flows and becomes in the now. I will get these and do no rewrites as I know that they are exactly what will vibrationally, do the work necessary.
This chant has been used for many purposes since its creation. It has been used in church services as a lead in to meditation. It is easily sung and quickly sets the listener/singer in a receptive space. It has been used as a meditation chant, sung repeatedly as a vehicle to change thought patterns and shift brain waive states. It has been used in groups to shift the focus and the energy.
It is an invitation to enter the silence, a call for guidance and inspiration. It is in this receptive state where the Higher Self is contacted, where Love is embraced, where one rises above the forms of life into the sublime realm of higher perspective, where one hears the voice of the I AM That I Am. Go there often...sing this for your well being.
Ek Ong kar Sat Nam Siri Wahe Guru is the Adi Shakti Mantra, and it is very powerful for awakening Kundalini and suspending the mind in bliss. From the Sanskrit tradition, it is translated as “There is one creator who has created this creation. Truth is his name. She is so great we cannot describe her infinite wisdom.”
Additionally, it invokes the energy of the inner teacher and initiates contact with the Great Ones who have come before.
Use this sung mantra in G to celebrate your spiritual nature and the multidimensional connection with The All That Is. It is light and inspiring and opens you to a higher vibrational experience. When you desire insight sing this mantra to make that contact. Repeated singing will bring balance to your mind and heart, preparing you for a deeper energetic flow.
Bismillah, from the CD, Chants
The Bismillah is a chant about emptying out so that we may be filled. From the Islamic tradition, is speaks of the ongoing moment by moment remembering of The One, during all of our thoughts and actions. It translates to be “in the name of Allah, as an instrument of the One, in harmony with the Divine Presence, etc”.
The er Rahman er Rahim is a recognition and honoring of the very source of all existence, the source of all blessings, the source of all compassion, the source of all mercy who gives endlessly to us and who also responds according to our moral integrity, our harmony with all of creation and our love of Allah. We give compassion and receive mercy.
The whole phrase, Bismillah, er rahman, er rahim, is such a holy phrase in Islamic tradition that it often begins each verse of the Koran, With every breath that we breathe, may we be act on behalf of the Divine Presence, the Source of all that we receive. With this awareness Bismillah remains and the I disappears. Surrender, embrace reflect, and be the Holy That I Am...
This is an intentional song I created for use as a meditation song for Unity Church in San Luis Obispo, California. I had a 30 minute drive to work during the 13 years as music director there. I would take the drive along the central coast and let Spirit drop in the chant to be used for the Sunday morning service meditation. I enjoyed the process, marveling at what would be given. I would get the lyric and then create a melody. It was ready, except for the instrumentation, by the time I arrived at the church. A guick moment or two at the piano or with the guitar would give me the accompaniment to the creation. We would share it together within the hour. I enjoyed the spontaneity and the freshness. And it would always be just what the talk needed to integrate the message into the cells.
This one is merely a statement of affirmation that, despite all the forms that instigate chaos within and without, life is simply and still, a beautiful thing. When we give we receive, Love permeates all moments . Conscious remembering of this allows us to seed joy and peace in all we do. And, what is the sweetest of all...it all comes right back to us in precious ways of appreciation and celebration. Ah...life is good. Use this intentional song in moments of forgetting, when you choose to give energy to a form that compromises your vibration. It is a welcome salve to those misunderstandings. All forms are beautiful. Knowing life is good, we move forward with trust.
