This information is taken from the extensive information on the chakra in my cutting edge book, Guidebook for Evolving Chakra Care.
There are twenty external spiritual centers that are not bound by the physical. They intersect with the body through the vertebrae. These do not fluctuate and change when we change bodies, but, rather, stay contained in the Great Divine Source. They channel the pure energies which are then assimilated and filtered according to our current frequency. The higher our frequency the purer the influx of vibrations through the points. Our personal journey of getting clear allows us to experience more of the pure vibrations that are feeding us.
Directs the pure spiritual energy form to interface with the physical at the vertebrae. These higher centers have no location, color, or regulatory functions but serve as an ongoing conduit with spirit that transcends incarnations, thus providing an ongoing informational and energetic river of your own design template. Assists in de-fragmenting the soul by providing the re-assemblage template as needed. Here is some brief information about each point. They are numbered in sequence with Chakras 1-12 as they are an esoteric and energetic expansion of our existing chakra system.
